Foooooooooooooooorza Azzuriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

party!

I am looking forward to this crunch match , and i hope there wont be any shocking surprises during the match , Italy should just field an experienced side that will control the flow of the game and if Donadoni is smart he will quit with the 4-3-3 formation and give his side some weight with the 4-4-2 tactic .. up front i hope it will be Toni and Iaquinta/Di natale .. Iaquinta and Di natale isnt a bad partnership also seeing as they played for years together at Udinese ..

My probable formation :

Buffon - Oddo - Cannavaro - Chelleini - Zambrotta - Camoranesi - Pirlo - Gattuso - Palladino - Toni - Di natale

Especially looking forward to seeing Palladino in his first call up

Good Luck Azzuri

Massimo Ambrosini told uefa.com Italy were not going to Hampden Park
to draw as the world champions face their crunch game against Scotland
on Saturday.Domenech prediction
Italy travel
to Glasgow knowing a point will secure qualification for UEFA EURO
2008 provided they beat the Faroe Islands at home four days later.
Raymond Domenech, coach of fellow Group B challengers France, has
confidently predicted the outcome of the Hampden Park showdown, saying:
"Italy are going to get a draw in Scotland." However, Ambrosini is
certain that is not his side's intention.'All three points'
"We
are not going there to draw," the 30-year-old, who joins AC Milan
team-mates Massimo Oddo, Daniele Bonera, Andrea Pirlo, Gennaro Gattuso
and Alberto Gilardino in the squad heading for Scotland, told uefa.com.
"When I heard Domenech's comment I smiled because we will not be
playing calculated football. We will be going for all three points."Milan presence
That
heavy Milan presence in the Italy side has made international duty a
pleasure for Ambrosini. "It's easy for us to play in the national team
because most of us have been playing together for six years," said the
midfielder. "We know each other very well and it could be a plus for
[Roberto] Donadoni, because we know how to play together and there are
never misunderstandings between us."Hostile atmosphere
Milan
lost 2-1 at Celtic FC in the UEFA Champions League last month and
Ambrosini has some idea of what to expect from the passionate home
supporters. "Almost every supporter at Hampden Park will be rooting for
Scotland they will sing from the first to the last minute," he said.
"However, I like to hear the fans, I like to feel the audience around
me. What I'm more concerned about is the fact that they usually get
great results at home but it's not right to say that I'm scared we
respect Scotland but we are not scared at all."Final hurdle
Third
in the section, two points behind leaders France and one behind
Scotland with a game in hand on both, avoiding defeat in Glasgow is
crucial to Italy, and Ambosini is adamant his side will not stumble at
the last hurdle. "It's almost impossible to lose concentration now," he
said. "I don't think we underestimate the matches against Scotland and
the Faroe Islands because we have been working for this qualification
for two years. If we were eliminated it would be like throwing all that
work away."

After winning the FIFA World Cup in 1982, Italy failed to qualify
for the following UEFA European Championship in France. Reaching the
top can have a dangerous effect on motivation, though not for Azzurri
goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. "Saturday's game against Scotland will be
one of the most important of my international career," he said.'United'
Capped
79 times, the 29-year-old from Juventus is enduring his second season
without European club football making him even more determined not to
miss out on UEFA EURO 2008. "I don't even want to contemplate not
qualifying for the EURO," said the 2006 World Cup winner. "It would be
a huge blow for us. We're a very united group and this is our major
strength. I'm sure we won't make any mistakes in this crucial game. We
have to finish the job we started a year and a half ago."Good results
Italy
are third in Group B, one point behind second-placed Scotland but with
a game in hand. With the Faroe Islands providing the opposition next
Wednesday in Modena, a draw at Hampden Park this weekend would almost
certainly secure a finals ticket at Scotland's expense. Buffon, though,
is focused on victory alone. "We're coming into this match on the back
of several good results and winning in Scotland would be the icing on
the cake.No fear
"We know we have to prepare
for a tough battle, but the prize at stake is priceless for both sides.
It will be difficult because of the atmosphere at Hampden Park and
because of their desire to win. This may be the game of their lives,
but it's very important for us as well. We respect Scotland but we're
not scared. We have too much experience at this level to be afraid."

I just hope France dont qualify for one reason .. not coz i hate them or anything but its for their own good .. so that JERK Domenech gets kicked out .. this guy actually thinks he has achieved something by reaching the WC final ? if it weren't for the experience of the squad he had , who had at least 6 starting players playing with eachother since France '98, then he wouldnt have made it to the second round even of that tournament .. Kick him out and put Wenger on the bench if you want France's glory days to come back !

Cheers

i doubt wenger would think of managing the national side.. he's too busy/rich/happy/pampered in london...

i think, if any manager should take up the job, it should be Le Guen .. he really messed up with rangers, and could use the national side to redeem himself a bit.

or .. with the pathetic displays from lyon.. he could be tempted to go back there.

anyway.. its gonna be a very tough match.. i have no idea how scotland managed to beat france.. but i dont think they'll do the same with italy.

2-1 !! wow what a game...

congrats to italy ... and hard luck scotland... they really wanted to win, but zero experience and low technical skills cost them the game... they had heart, but it wasnt enough.

better luck in the world cup

what would i give to see another italy-france final .. wow!!

sadly.. it wont happen.. both teams dont have it in them to reach the final

maybe italy CAN.. but i dont rate donadoni.. the only reason they reached the WC final was becuz of the genius of lippi.
