| uploading games is not a bad idea, especially if people wanted to see lets say soccer goals in fifa, or win 11. Let see, you can even upload some of the chapters you have finished and do your own walk through easily.
who knows what PS3 will do next |

| IT firm Sophos is claiming hackers have broken into the US PlayStation website, GamesIndustry.biz reports.Apparently miscreants have introduced unauthorised code to the SingStar Pop and God of War pages, causing a pop-up box of evil to appear. The box warns that a virus has been detected so frightened Internet users rush out to buy expensive protective software."There are millions of videogame lovers around the world, many of whom will visit Sony's PlayStation website regularly to find out more about the latest console games," said Graham Cluley from Sophos, clearly not about to let anyone get away with this. Sophos further warned that hackers may not stop here, and may make the pages even more malicious by installing code designed to harvest your secrets."Most would never expect that surfing to a website like this could potentially infect them with malware. If users do not have sufficient protection in place then they might find that before they know it they have been scared into handing their credit card details over to a bunch of cyber-criminals," said Curley."It is essential that all websites, especially when they are high profile like this or receiving a large level of traffic, have been properly hardened to prevent hackers from injecting malicious code on to what should be legitimate webpages." |

| Sadly Amazon was wrong when it theorised a PlayTV launch in July, but SCEE's President, David Reeves, has now put us out of our misery and announced the official release date. Across Europe PlayTV will launch from September to December. In the UK, we're right at the front of that schedule; the 10th of September to be precise.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Reeves also confirmed that recording while playing games will be possible. "It was very difficult for some of the tech guys but we had to include it in the firmware upgrade, 2.41, but it's done now". The implication there, of course, is that come PlayTv's launch, all that's needed is to plug the box into a PS3 for it to work, as the PS3 is already updated (assuming you upgrade your firmware) to support it.
Price wise, we already know from PlayStation Day that the add-on will cost €99 (~£80). The 80GB PS3 price drop will be doubly good news for those wanting extra storage for all their recorded TV programmes!
In case any of you are from Australia or New Zealand, Reeves mentioned that you should see PlayTV in January or February, as you're slightly behind with getting digital terrestrial sorted. |
